Royal Copenhagen The Goose Thief figurine no. 2139 - boy with geese

The Goose Thief from Royal Copenhagen is a classic porcelain figurine with plenty of storytelling in the motif. The figurine shows a boy with geese in a lively and humorous arrangement, where movement, body language and the alert birds together create a scene that you keep looking at. It is precisely the type of figurine that combines Danish porcelain art with character, atmosphere and a motif that feels both popular and lively.

The young boy is modeled in a tense posture, where he holds a goose close to his body, while the other geese gather around him. The soft shapes, the muted nuances and the glossy glaze give the figurine a calm expression, even though the motif contains both speed and storytelling. One almost senses the moment in the middle of the action, and that makes The Goose Thief a porcelain figurine with personality and presence.

The figurine is designed by Christian Thomsen and made in porcelain with underglaze, which emphasizes the solid craftsmanship quality for which Royal Copenhagen is known. As a child figurine and animal figurine, it appeals both to collectors of classic figurines and to those who appreciate motifs with a rural character, everyday life and small stories from another time. It works beautifully in a collection of B&G and Royal Copenhagen figurines, but can also stand alone on the shelf, in the display cabinet or on a side table, where it adds warmth and history to the home.

Older porcelain figurines like this have a special ability to give the interior soul. They are created to last, to be cared for and to be passed on from generation to generation. Therefore, a figurine like The Goose Thief is not just a decorative choice, but also a way to preserve fine craftsmanship and let beautiful quality objects gain new life in a modern home.
