Royal Copenhagen peasant girl figurine no. 815 by Christian Thomsen

Royal Copenhagen figurine no. 815 depicts a peasant girl in a motif that exudes Danish rural life and everyday storytelling. The figurine is modeled with a calm, almost thoughtful expression, where the girl stands slightly leaning back with a scarf around her head, a light apron dress, and work tools in her hands. This gives the porcelain figurine a present character, which makes it more than just decoration - it tells of life in the countryside and the small daily chores.

Christian Thomsen has created an agricultural figurine with fine, observable details. The blue-speckled bodice, the white apron, and the headscarf emphasize the figurine's simple and traditional expression, while the small bucket in one hand and the dark jug in the other clearly tie the motif to farm life and work. At the bottom is a naturalistic base that completes the scene and gives the figurine a vivid anchoring in its environment.

As a Royal Copenhagen porcelain figurine, the peasant girl is a beautiful example of the classic Danish tradition of figurines that portray people, professions, and everyday life with warmth and precision. The underglaze decoration contributes to the calm play of colors and the durable surface that many collectors and design enthusiasts appreciate. The figurine therefore fits both into a collection of Royal Copenhagen figurines and into an interior where one desires porcelain with history, personality, and a strong Danish design language.

An older figurine like this also has a special value today. It brings the craftsmanship and stories of the past into a modern home and is at the same time a sustainable choice for you who appreciate quality objects created to last for generations. It works beautifully alone on a shelf, in a display cabinet, or together with other human figurines, peasant figurines, and craft figurines from the same tradition.
