Royal Copenhagen Millennium series Technique: Underglazed Design: Sven Vestergaard Height: 7" / 18 cm This Millenium plate is No. 4 in the series, introduced by Royal Copenhagen to mark the new millenium. In this series of plates, two plates, Emma and Frederik, travel around the world on their mission to look after our planet and its inhabitants be they animals or humans. This year Emma and Frederik's travels have taken them to the ocean to play with giant turtles. Together with the turtle they dive down towards the seabed where all the plants move about in the water like a symbol of life itself.
The motif is sculpted in relief and hand- decorated in the famous cobolt blue colour under the glaze. Each plate is individually numbered.
