Desiree H.C. Andersen Christmas plate 1997 with the motif My Life's Fairy Tale combines Danish Christmas tradition, literary history and classic blue-and-white porcelain art. The annual plate shows an atmospheric winter scene from Amalienborg Palace Square, where guards, passers-by and the distinctive equestrian statue form a narrative setting around H.C. It is made in the good, robust quality that characterises the factory's Christmas plates, and it is therefore not only created for hanging and collecting. It can also be used for food and works well as a dinner plate or cake plate in everyday life. At the same time, it is dishwasher safe and has holes on the back for hanging, so it can easily be used both on the table and as wall decoration.

Although this H.C. Andersen Christmas plate was produced many years ago, it comes from the remaining stock from Porcelænsfabrikken Désirée, which we purchased in 2006. Therefore, virtually all our plates from the series are still unused. This makes it particularly interesting for you who want older Danish porcelain with history, but also would like a plate that still appears suitable for use and gifting.

In the interior, the 1997 plate adds a classic Danish expression, whether it is hung alone, included in a collection of Christmas plates or combined with other blue-and-white porcelain. From 1982 and until at least 2001, a matching cup was produced in the series, so many also choose to combine plates and cups across year groups to create a personal H.C. Andersen collection.
