About the item

Third issue in the collection of Carl Larsson's children on porcelain.
This work was painted in the period from 1894-97 and it depicts a traditional Swedish nameday party for Emma at "Lille Hyttnäs". According to the tradition the children are dressed up and sing or read poetry or play the violin. This morning Ulf was dressed up as a girl and Suzanne was dressed in Carl Larsson's suit and read the nameday verse.
