Mads Stage (1922-2004) was an internationally recognised Danish graphical designer, who carried out work for both Royal Copenhagen and Désirée.
Mads Stage had a very large production of illustrations through his work. His most well-known works are probably his many animal motifs and hunting motifs. These nature oriented motifs are still sold under his own trademark.
Furthermore he produced the series Copenhagen portraits for Royal Copenhagen with motifs of important and famous buildings in Copenhagen.
He has also produced a number of the mother's day plates of the porcelain factory Désirée.
He is known for his clear and detailed pictures with happy and idyllic motifs. His works are also characterised by a lightness of detail and a very living reproduction of the motif.
