Royal Copenhagen 2025
The motif on the 2025 Christmas plate from Royal Copenhagen marks the 250th anniversary of the manufactory and depicts a bust of Queen Juliane Marie, one of its founders. On the windowsill stands the very first Christmas plate from 1908, and through the window you can see Frederiksborg Castle. The accompanying annual figurine 2025 is a watchful crow, as always inspired by the motif of the plate and created by Allan Therkelsen.
A novelty in the 2025 collection is the annual figurine of a baby rhino. The figurine joins the series of Blue Collectibles depicting endangered species and, like the crow, is created by Allan Therkelsen.
Royal Copenhagen also continues to release a small Christmas plaquette, and in 2025 it shows a little boy and his mother greeting Santa Claus at the Town Hall Square in Copenhagen. The motif is based on the tradition of lighting the city’s Christmas tree on the first Sunday of Advent – a tradition dating back to 1914.
Also in 2025, the Annual Santa, the Annual Christmas Tree and the Annual Mrs. Santa return. Santa carries a coffee pot decorated with the iconic Blue Fluted Plain pattern, while his wife carries a large dish of aebleskiver. The Annual Christmas Tree is decorated with both classic and modern elements, highlighting how old and new traditions meet. All three figurines are designed by Sven Vestergaard.
Finally, Royal Copenhagen continues their thermal mug and plate set, which in 2025 is once again inspired by elements from the Christmas plate motif. The set is available both with and without saucer and is decorated in the classic blue underglaze spray painting that has been used since the very first annual plate in 1895.
As something truly special in the anniversary year, a plate is also released to mark Royal Copenhagen’s 250-year history. The motif shows the silhouette of a porcelain painter, based on a 1927 paper cut by Else Hasselriis, and pairs beautifully with the 1975 commemorative plate that celebrated the 200th anniversary.
The annual Chinese zodiac figurine for 2025 is the snake, a creature associated with intelligence, intuition and wisdom, adding yet another distinctive element to the year’s collection.

Bing & Groendahl 2025
The motif on the B&G Christmas Plate 2025 depicts the iconic Grundtvig’s Church in Bispebjerg, Copenhagen. The church was completed in 1940 in memory of the pastor and poet N.F.S. Grundtvig, and the plate’s motif is, as always, created by Dag Samsund.
Bing & Groendahl’s Mother’s Day Plate 2025 shows a moose cow with her calves. The moose, a gentle giant from the north, has never before been shown on an annual plate. In 2025 it is portrayed in a clearing with its young – a motif symbolizing care, togetherness and the unbreakable bond between mother and child. This plate is also designed by Dag Samsund.
