Royal Copenhagen swallow figurine no. 2374 or 130 by Platen-Hallermundt

This Royal Copenhagen swallow figurine no. 2374/130 is a classic bird figurine in porcelain with a calm and streamlined expression. The form is simple and precise, and the small swallow is modeled with soft transitions, rounded head, long pointed tail and a beautiful underglaze in shades of blue with a white breast. This gives the figurine a lively, yet subdued expression, which fits beautifully into both modern and more traditional homes.

Francis Valdemar Platen-Hallermundt is known for his lifelike animal figurines, and here one sees precisely that sure sense of the bird's character and movement. The figurine rests low and gathered, as if the swallow has just perched for a moment. The smooth lines and the glossy glaze highlight the quality of the porcelain and make the figurine decorative from all angles.

A Royal Copenhagen bird figurine like this appeals both to collectors of Danish porcelain and to those who are fond of smaller design objects with personality. It works well alone on a shelf, in a bookcase or in a still life together with other porcelain figurines and Nordic applied art. It is also ideal as a gift idea for bird lovers, collectors or for the one who appreciates Danish design with history.

Older porcelain figurines like this have a special charm, because they combine good craftsmanship, durability and timeless design language. Choosing a piece with history is also a beautiful way to give classic design new life in the interior. At DPH - Danish Porcelain House, we value precisely the type of objects that can still create joy many years after they were made.
