Royal Copenhagen Jens with dog figurine no. 683 Allan Therkelsen

Royal Copenhagen figurine no. 683 depicts Jens with dog in a motif that exudes everyday life, presence, and Danish figurine tradition. The boy stands in a dark sweater, light shorts, and white cap with his arms gathered in front of him, while the dog stands close by his legs and looks up at him. It is a porcelain figurine with a calm and recognizable expression, where the relationship between child and animal is the center of the entire motif.

Allan Therkelsen has created a child figurine where pose and details work nicely together. The dog's attentive gaze and the boy's slightly reserved posture give the figurine personality, without the motif seeming overexplained. The blue and white shades emphasize the classic expression that many associate with Royal Copenhagen, and the underglaze decoration gives the surface the characteristic depth and durability that collectors and porcelain lovers appreciate.

Jens with dog fits well into a collection of child figurines, animal figurines, or classic Royal Copenhagen figurines. It can stand alone on a shelf, in a display cabinet, or together with other figurines from the same universe, where it contributes a warm story of childhood and faithful companionship. For many, motifs with children and dogs in particular will also have a special appeal as a gift for collectors or for someone who is fond of porcelain figurines with atmosphere and history.

Older porcelain figurines like this have a special value because they are created to be preserved and enjoyed for many years. When you choose a figurine with history, you get not just a decorative object, but also a piece of Danish design culture that can still find a natural place in the modern home. It is a beautiful way to bring quality, reuse, and personality into the interior.
