Bing & Grøndahl bird figurine no. 1771 sleeping finch in porcelain

Bing & Grøndahl bird figurine no. 1771 depicts a sleeping finch, rendered in a calm and almost poetic posture. The small bird rests on a light branch with its head turned toward the body, and the entire expression exudes stillness, security, and nature's small, undisturbed moments. It is precisely this type of porcelain figurine that many seek when they want classic Danish bird art with a soft and harmonious expression.

In the pictures, a beautiful, subdued color scheme is seen with warm brownish shades on the body, light blue tones at the head and tail, as well as a light branch that forms the base of the figure. The wings are modeled with fine, simple lines that give the bird character without appearing overworked. The glazed surface and the underglaze emphasize the calm transitions in the colors and give the figurine the glossy, lively expression that characterizes many classic Bing & Grøndahl figurines in porcelain.

As a porcelain figurine from Bing & Grøndahl, this bird figurine fits naturally into both a collection of bird figurines and a simpler interior setting, where it can stand alone on a shelf, in a display cabinet, or on a small side table. The small sleeping bird adds a quiet nature motif to the room and at the same time functions as a decorative collector's item with a clear connection to the Danish porcelain tradition.

For many, older porcelain figurines are also a way to bring history and personality into the home. A vintage bird figurine like this is made to last and can continue to bring joy for many years to come. This makes it a sustainable choice for those who appreciate good craftsmanship, classic design, and the charm of giving beautiful quality objects new life.

This Bing & Grøndahl finch is also an obvious gift for collectors, bird enthusiasts, or anyone who loves porcelain figurines with a nature motif and Danish design history.
