Bing & Grøndahl parrot figurine no. 2019 Dahl-Jensen 14 cm

Bing & Grøndahl parrot figurine no. 2019 is a characterful porcelain figurine that combines a bird motif, Danish porcelain art, and classic modelling in one unified expression. The parrot sits on a branch with its head bent slightly forward and its beak a little open, which gives the figurine an alert and lively presence. It is a bird figurine that catches the eye with its calm posture and finely balanced formal language.

Jens Peter Dahl Jensen is known for his lifelike animal figurines, and that is clearly seen here. The plumage is modelled with soft transitions and marked layers that give depth to the body, while the glaze beautifully highlights the surfaces of the figurine. In the pictures, a light pink body and head, dark blue wings and tail, as well as a branch in light shades can be seen, forming a calm and harmonious base beneath the bird. The combination of the subdued and deeper colours gives the parrot a decorative expression that works beautifully from several angles.

This porcelain figurine is an obvious choice for collectors of Bing & Grøndahl, Dahl-Jensen figurines, and classic bird figurines in porcelain. It fits beautifully in a display cabinet, on a shelf, or as part of an arrangement with other animal figurines from B&G and Royal Copenhagen. Bird figurines in particular often add lightness, colour, and personality to the home, and this parrot also has the weight and quality that make older porcelain design relevant even today.

Choosing a vintage porcelain figurine like this is also a way to give enduring craftsmanship new life. Figurines with history and soul create a more personal interior and are a sustainable alternative to new production. The parrot no. 2019 is therefore both a collector's item and a piece of applied art that can still bring joy for many years to come.
