Bing & Grøndahl green budgerigar figurine no. 2341 Svend Jespersen

Bing & Grøndahl bird figurine no. 2341 depicts a green budgerigar rendered with the calm, lifelike expression that makes the classic Danish porcelain figurines so sought-after. The bird sits on a branch with its body slightly forward, and the soft transitions between green shades, light mask and blue tail give the figurine life and depth. It is a porcelain figurine that appeals both to collectors of B&G and to those who are fond of bird figurines with a fine eye for form and movement.

The figurine is designed by Svend Jespersen for Bing & Grøndahl, and his bird figurines in particular are known for their assured proportions and natural character. Here, the budgerigar is modelled in a calm, compact form, where the smooth glaze and the underglaze decoration emphasize the subdued colours. The branch in light brownish tones creates a nice contrast to the bird's green plumage and makes the figurine decorative from several angles.

A Bing & Grøndahl budgerigar like this fits beautifully into a collection of Danish porcelain figurines, but it also works well on its own on a shelf, in a display cabinet or as a personal gift for a bird lover. Older porcelain figurines like this bring history and character into the interior and are a good choice for those who appreciate classic design and wish to give well-executed craftsmanship new life in the home. It is also an obvious choice if you are looking for a B&G bird figurine, a porcelain budgerigar or a figurine of a green budgerigar with figurine number 2341.
