Bing & Grøndahl The Sea figurine no. 4059 or 59, Kai Nielsen, 20 cm

Bing & Grøndahl figurine "The Sea" is a lively and distinctive porcelain figurine, where a girl blows into a conch shell while sitting perched high on an undulating, sea-inspired motif. The figurine combines movement, fantasy and storytelling in an expression that immediately brings to mind the world of the sea, sound and play. The glossy white blanc de chine execution gives the motif a calm and sculptural character, where form and lines are allowed to stand out completely clearly.

Kai Nielsen has created a figurine with a fine sense of rhythm and balance. The girl's posture, the raised conch shell and the organic base together form a composition full of life. From the different angles, the figurine is experienced differently, and that is precisely what makes it exciting to have on display, where it can be enjoyed as an art object and porcelain figurine at the same time.

This Bing & Grøndahl figurine appeals both to collectors of Danish porcelain and to those who want a figurine with a maritime atmosphere and classic design language. The white porcelain makes it easy to place in the interior, where it fits beautifully on a shelf, in a display cabinet or as part of a collection with other white figurines and art objects. It can also be an obvious gift idea for someone who is fond of vintage porcelain, Kai Nielsen or figurines with a motif from the sea.

Older porcelain figurines like this have a special presence. They are created with durability, craftsmanship and lasting joy in mind, and they bring both history and personality into the home. Choosing a figurine with history is also a beautiful way to give classic design new life in a modern interior.
