Søholm Money Box Man Karl Skytte 1976 Bikuben Money Box Man of the Year

This Søholm money box man from 1976 depicts Karl Skytte and is part of Bikuben's sought-after series Money Box Man of the Year. The figure is designed as a characterful bust with distinctive facial features, a side parting, and a suit with a tie, which gives the piggy bank a clear portrait character and a strong visual identity. For collectors of Danish piggy banks, Søholm ceramics, and corporate gifts with history, this is a motif that stands out.

The money box men from Bikuben have over the years gained a special place among collectibles in Danish design and decorative arts. It is precisely the combination of portrait figure, piggy bank, and vintage that makes this model interesting for both collectors of Søholm, bank-related advertising objects, and those who appreciate ceramics with a story. When the year and motif are so closely linked to the release, the figure also becomes easier to identify and compare with other editions in the series.

As an older piggy bank, this model contains the special charm that comes with objects created to last and be kept. It adds personality to the decor on a shelf, in a display cabinet, or together with other figures, ceramic objects, and collectibles from the same period. At the same time, it is a fine way to give Danish design history new life in a modern home, where things with soul and history are allowed to take up more space than mass-produced alternatives.

This Søholm piggy bank appeals both to the dedicated collector and to the one seeking a different gift with historical character. The Karl Skytte motif, the 1976 vintage, and the connection to Bikuben's Money Box Man of the Year series make it ideal for collectors who wish to expand a thematic collection of money box men or Danish ceramics from well-known producers.
