Knud Basse bear ceramic figurine 5.5 cm

This small bear figurine by Knud Basse has a calm and present expression that makes it easy to like. The figurine depicts a sitting bear with rounded shapes, small defined ears, and a simply modelled face, where the dark eyes draw the gaze. The golden-brown glaze gives the figurine warmth and depth, and the surface gets a lively play that suits the simple animal motif very nicely.

Knud Basse is known for his animal figurines, and that is evident here as well. The shape is simple, but not anonymous. On the contrary, the small ceramic figurine contains both character and calm, and that is precisely what makes it suitable as a decorative figurine in the home. As a bear, animal figurine, and ceramic collector's item, it fits naturally with you if you are fond of Danish ceramics and small figurines with a clear design language.

The compact size of 5.5 cm makes the figurine easy to place in a bookcase, on a shelf, in a windowsill, or as part of a collection with other bear figurines and animal figurines. It also works well together with natural materials such as wood and stone, where the warm glaze is allowed to stand out. As a gift idea, it is ideal for collectors, for an animal lover, or for someone who appreciates ceramics with personality.

Older figurines and crafts such as this have a special ability to add soul to the home. When you choose ceramics with history, you are at the same time choosing a more sustainable alternative to new production and giving fine craftsmanship the opportunity to create joy again in a new home. This little bear does not take up much space, but it adds a quiet, personal expression that stands out.
