Just Andersen calf figurine D2405 by Gudrun Lauesen in diskometal

This calf figurine from Just Andersen combines Danish sculpture, animal study and decorative metal craftsmanship in one and the same object. The motif is a standing calf rendered in a calm, natural posture, where the slightly lowered head and the slender legs give the figure a lively and down-to-earth expression. The dark patinated surface and the modelled texture highlight the animal's coat and body shape in a way that gives the figure both weight and presence.

The figurine is model no. D2405 and is designed by Gudrun Lauesen for Just Andersen. It is precisely the combination of Lauesen's assured eye for animals and Just Andersen's characteristic diskometal that makes this figurine interesting for collectors of Danish design, animal figurines and vintage interiors alike. The patinated metal surface gives a warm play in brown and dark tones, which suits the figurine's organic form and emphasizes its sculptural character.

As decoration, a calf in diskometal fits beautifully on a shelf, in a display cabinet, on a desk or as part of a larger collection of Nordic arts and crafts and animal figurines. It is also an obvious gift for the collector or for someone who appreciates older Danish design with personality and history. When you choose original figurines like this one, you get not only a decorative object, but also a piece of design created to last and be appreciated for many years to come.

On the figurine it is stamped "Just Denmark D2405" and signed "Just A", which are important details for identification. The existing patination and the classic design language make it suitable for both modern and more traditional homes, where it adds character, materiality and narrative.
