Royal Copenhagen duck pair figurine no. 20004 light - Knud Kyhn

Royal Copenhagen duck pair figurine no. 20004 in light stoneware is an atmospheric animal figurine by Knud Kyhn, where two ducks are gathered in a close and calm composition. One duck stands upright with a full body and its head slightly raised, while the other rests low in front. The motif has a quiet naturalness that makes the figurine lively to look at from several angles, while at the same time giving it a calm place in the interior.

The glaze plays beautifully in light shades with darker areas in brownish, grayish and bluish tones. The flowing color transitions emphasize the figurine's organic form and give the surface depth and variation. The pictures also show the low, uneven base, which gathers the two birds and makes the motif seem anchored in a small piece of nature. It is precisely this kind of material effect and confident modeling that many associate with Knud Kyhn's work with animal figurines in stoneware.

Knud Kyhn is known for his bird and animal motifs, where anatomy, movement and character come together in a higher unity. In this Royal Copenhagen figurine, the expression is calmer than dramatic, and that makes the duck pair suitable both as a collector's figurine and as a decorative feature in the home. The figurine fits beautifully in a display cabinet, on a shelf or on a side table, where the nuances of the glaze can really come into their own.

Older stoneware figurines like this add personality and history to the home. They are created with a quality that can last through generations, and that is precisely why vintage design is a good choice for you who want beautiful craftsmanship with soul. A duck pair like this is also an obvious gift for collectors of Royal Copenhagen, for connoisseurs of Knud Kyhn or for you who are fond of classic bird figurines and Danish stoneware with character.
