Royal Copenhagen polar bear cub figurine no. 21435 by Knud Kyhn

Royal Copenhagen polar bear cub figurine no. 21435 is an atmospheric stoneware figurine with the soft, calm expression that makes Knud Kyhn's animal figurines so sought-after. The figurine depicts a small bear cub sitting on its haunches with its head slightly bowed and its front paws gathered up toward its snout. This gives the figurine a thoughtful and almost shy expression, which adds both warmth and personality to the interior.

The light, white glaze emphasizes the calm character of the motif and at the same time highlights the modeled details in the fur, paws, and face. From every angle, the figurine appears rounded, compact, and harmonious, and it is precisely this sense of the animals' natural body language that is characteristic of Knud Kyhn's work. This is not a strict and rigid animal figurine, but a sculptural interpretation with presence and life.

As a stoneware figurine from Royal Copenhagen, this bear cub has both decorative weight and classic Danish design history within it. It fits beautifully on a shelf, on a chest of drawers, in a display cabinet, or as part of a collection of animal figurines and Nordic ceramics. The white color makes it easy to combine with both modern and more traditional homes, where it can stand alone or together with other figurines in nature-inspired shades.

For collectors and design enthusiasts, model number 21435 is an important detail, and the figurine is an obvious choice for those who appreciate Royal Copenhagen, Knud Kyhn, and older decorative art with character. At the same time, it is a fine example of how good craftsmanship and strong design can preserve their appeal through generations and continue to create joy in a contemporary home.
