Royal Copenhagen reclining nude girl figurine no. 4704

Royal Copenhagen figurine no. 4704 depicts a reclining nude girl in a calm, contemplative pose. The figurine rests on her stomach with bent legs and the head slightly turned, which gives the motif a quiet and natural expression. The hair falls down along the side, and the relaxed position makes the figurine both present and sculptural in its formal language.

John Galster has with a sure hand created a porcelain figurine in which the lines of the body and the subdued movement are at the center. It is a figurine that speaks to collectors of classic Royal Copenhagen figurines, but also to those who appreciate Danish design with a more artistic and figurative expression. The simple underglaze supports the motif's soft surface and lets the form stand out clearly.

This Royal Copenhagen figurine fits beautifully into an interior with a focus on art, porcelain, and timeless objects. It can stand alone as a quiet eye-catcher on a shelf, in a bookcase, or on a side table, but it can also be combined with other porcelain figurines to create a personal collection. The motif makes it ideal for collectors of human figures and for those who appreciate porcelain art with classic character.

Older porcelain figurines like this one have a special ability to add history and personality to the home. Choosing original Danish porcelain with lasting quality is at the same time a beautiful way to give good craftsmanship new life and let designs from earlier times continue to create joy in a modern home.
