Royal Copenhagen H.C. Andersen figurine no. 5245

Royal Copenhagen figurine no. 5245 depicts H.C. Andersen as a slender, walking figure with a thoughtful expression and a calm, almost storytelling presence. The figurine is made of porcelain with underglaze and portrays the famous Danish poet in light, subdued shades with dark shoes, a blue bow, and a blue bundle in his hand. On the base appears the text "H.C. ANDERSEN 1819", and on the small stone next to the figure is written "1/2 MIL".

It is a porcelain figurine that contains both Danish cultural history and a characterful figurine design. H.C. Andersen is depicted as the traveling poet, and the visible details give the figurine a fine story in itself. The long coat, the slightly forward-bent posture, and the modest luggage emphasize the motif's connection to walking, fantasy, and the life that made H.C. Andersen one of Denmark's most beloved authors.

The figurine is designed by Hanne Varming, and it is precisely her design language that suits the motif well. The expression is simple and human, without losing the historical identity. For collectors of Royal Copenhagen figurines, H.C. Andersen art, and Danish design, this is a model with great appeal. It also fits beautifully into an interior with books, classic porcelain, or other collectible figurines, where it can create a personal and cultural touch.

An older porcelain figurine like this also has a special value today. When one chooses vintage porcelain and classic figurines with history, it is a way to preserve fine craftsmanship and give beautiful quality objects new life. The figurine therefore functions both as a collector's item, as a gift idea for someone interested in literature, and as a decorative tribute to H.C. Andersen in the modern home.
