Tufted duck Bing & Grøndahl bird figurine no. 1855 H 7 cm

Tufted duck from Bing & Grøndahl is a charming bird figurine in porcelain, where the calm motif and the compact form give the figure a vivid presence. Jens Peter Dahl Jensen was known for his animal depictions, and here he has captured the tufted duck with raised head, rounded body and a fine, almost attentive posture, which gives the figure personality without seeming exaggerated. It is precisely the type of Danish porcelain figurine that appeals to both collectors and to you who are fond of classic bird figurines with a nature motif.

In the pictures, the bird appears in dark brown-grey shades with a white belly and discreetly defined wings and tail. The glossy underglaze brings the colors together beautifully and highlights the soft transitions in the modeling. The figure stands low and harmonious, while the long neck and the slightly upturned beak create movement in the form. The combination of the stylized and the true-to-nature is very characteristic of Bing & Grøndahl's bird figurines and makes the model easy to place in both classic and more simple, modern homes.

Model no. 1855 is a fine example of Danish porcelain, where artistic sense of form and solid craftsmanship go hand in hand. Older figures like this have a special value because they are created to last and can still bring joy many years after they were made. This also makes it a sustainable choice for you who would like to decorate with original objects with history and soul rather than new production.

The tufted duck can stand alone as a small eye-catcher on a shelf, in a display cabinet or on a desk, but it also works well together with other bird figurines or animal figurines in porcelain. It is ideal as a gift for the collector, the bird lover or the one who appreciates Bing & Grøndahl and the Danish design tradition.
