Bing & Grøndahl mother with child figurine no. 2200

This Bing & Grøndahl figurine no. 2200 depicts mother and child in a calm and intimate moment. The motif is simple and strong at the same time: a seated mother in a long blue dress with the child safely in her arms. The child leans in toward her, and the entire expression of the figurine centers on closeness, care, and the quiet connection between parent and child.

The porcelain figurine has a beautiful, soft design, where the rounded lines emphasize the warm atmosphere. The deep blue color of the mother's dress stands beautifully against the child's light outfit with a pink upper part, and the white base gives the figurine a calm and architectural expression. At the same time, the pose is finely balanced, so the figurine appears harmonious from several angles.

As a mother with child figurine, it fits naturally into a collection of Bing & Grøndahl figurines, but it can also stand alone as a personal feature in the home. It is well suited for a shelf, display cabinet, or dresser, where the motif can be allowed to speak for itself. For many, it will also be an obvious gift idea for a mother, for a christening, maternity leave, or as a lasting memory of family life and love.

Bing & Grøndahl is known for porcelain figurines with sensitive depictions of people, and figurine no. 2200 is a fine example of exactly that. Here, the focus is not on grand effects, but on the intimate motif and the atmosphere that make the figurine relevant even today. It is precisely the type of porcelain art that brings both history, warmth, and personality into the décor.
