The Christmas tree is very special in our Christmas. When the Christmas tree is brought inside and decorated, it is so close to the culmination of Christmas and when it is taken outside again, it is all over. On Christmas Eve and Christmas Morning the beautiful Christmas tree decorated with candles, ornaments and Christmas presents in many colours under the tree, is in centre and brings a very special atmosphere. Jette Frolich has not just thought about our symbolic Christmas tree, when creating this years Holmegaard Christmas bottle, but also The fairytale "The Fir Tree" by Hans Christian Andersen. Therefore, on one of the bottles sides, we see the tree standing in the wood. Here the fir tree was standing for years, dreaming of more, then it was brought into a family's home and decorated for Christmas Eve, where it has its best day in its life. On the narrow side of the Christmas bottle we see a boy on his way into the forest with an axe, looking for the perfect Christmas tree. On the other narrow side we see a girl on her way out of the forest with the Christmas tree lying on her sledge. At this side we also see the traditional date marks.
