Royal Copenhagen & Bing and Groendahl porcelain figures of seals and sea lions
Both Royal Copenhagen (Royal Porcelain) and Bing & Groendahl have produced figures of seals and sea lions.
Bing & Grøndahl made a series consisting of three white seals in different poses. One lying on its back, one on its side, and one on its stomach. The figures are about 14 cm high and form a charming family. Bing and Groendahl have also released a porcelain sea lion and a seal pup.
In 2003, Royal Copenhagen launched a series of animals with young, called Motherly Love. The series is designed by the artist Allan Therkelsen and depicts animal families with mother and children. The seal family consists of a seal with a pup, a single seal pup - scratching behind its ear - and a porcelain figure of two seal pups.
Besides the Motherly Love series, the factory has also previously released figures of sea lions.
The significance of seals and sea lions
Seals and sea lions are described by symbol researchers with words like creativity, dreams, and imagination. These animals are said to help humans develop and focus your imagination and fantasy. So it is a good idea to have a figure of a sea lion or a seal in your home. See our beautiful figures from Royal Copenhagen and Bing & Groendahl.
