Bing & Grøndahl Woodpecker figurine no. 1717 by Dahl-Jensen

Bing & Grøndahl woodpecker figurine no. 1717 by Dahl-Jensen is a porcelain figurine with a vivid bird motif and a strong sense of nature. The figurine depicts a woodpecker sitting leaning forward on a light tree stump, as if it has just caught the scent of something in the bark. The characteristic head position and the long, slender beak shape give the figurine an intense calm and a fine sense of movement in the still moment.

Jens Peter Dahl Jensen is known for his assured and observant animal depictions, and this is clearly seen in this bird figurine. The woodpecker's plumage is rendered in distinctive black-and-white sections with warm brownish shades on the head, while the base is shaped like a piece of wood in light, natural tones. The glazed porcelain surface and underglaze decoration highlight both the play of colors and the modeling, giving the figurine depth and character from all angles.

As a Bing & Grøndahl bird figurine, this woodpecker suits both the dedicated collector and you who want a classic piece of Danish porcelain art in the interior. It looks beautiful in a display cabinet, on a shelf, or as part of an arrangement with other animal figurines and bird figurines in porcelain. The motif has a calm, lifelike expression, which makes the figurine easy to place in both a modern and a more traditional home.

Older porcelain figurines like this have a special ability to add personality and history to the home. When one chooses vintage porcelain and Danish design with durable quality, it is at the same time a beautiful way to give fine craftsmanship new life. Therefore, this Bing & Grøndahl woodpecker is also an obvious gift for the collector, the bird lover, or the one who is fond of classic porcelain figurines with soul.
