Bing & Grøndahl wagtail figure 1764 in porcelain, 14 cm

This wagtail from Bing & Grøndahl is a classic bird figurine in porcelain, designed by Jens Peter Dahl Jensen. The figure captures the bird's light and alert expression with the characteristic long tail, the pointed beak and the upright posture, which gives the motif life and movement. The black, grey and white shades are beautifully balanced and highlight the bird's elegant silhouette on the greenishly toned base.

It is precisely the interplay between naturalism and clean form that makes Bing & Grøndahl's bird figurines so sought-after. Here you get a porcelain figurine where the underglaze gives a soft depth to the colours and emphasizes the fine details in the plumage. The slender tail, the marked wing patterns and the small branch-shaped base create a figure that appears alive from every angle.

The wagtail fits beautifully into an interior with a focus on Danish design, porcelain and Nordic nature motifs. It is ideal as a collector's figure, but also as a decorative detail on the shelf, in the display cabinet or on the desk, where it adds a calm and personal expression to the home. For many, Bing & Grøndahl bird figurines are also an obvious gift idea for someone who is fond of porcelain, birds or classic Danish crafts.

This model is a good choice for collectors seeking a Bing & Grøndahl bird figurine with a recognizable motif and a figure number that makes it easy to identify. A wagtail like this has both character, craftsmanship quality and the timeless appeal that makes older porcelain figurines relevant in modern homes.
