Bing & Grøndahl German Shepherd figure no. 1765 Lauritz Jensen

Bing & Grøndahl German Shepherd figure no. 1765 is a porcelain figurine with a lively and lifelike expression that immediately catches the eye. The figure depicts a seated German Shepherd with an upright posture, erect ears, and the head slightly turned to the side. The open mouth and the tongue hanging out to one side give the motif an alert and present character, which suits the dog breed well and adds personality to the figure.

The colors are in soft brownish-gray shades with a light chest, light paws, and darker areas around the back, neck, and head. The glossy glaze finely emphasizes the modeling and highlights both the slender body, the long tail, and the dog's attentive posture. It is a dog figurine that works beautifully both as a decorative porcelain figurine and as a collector's item for those who are fond of classic animal figurines.

Lauritz Jensen designed the figure for Bing & Grøndahl with an eye for the breed's characteristic features. The combination of porcelain and underglaze gives a calm, cohesive expression that fits well into both modern interiors and homes with a fondness for older Danish design. The figure looks beautiful in a display cabinet, on a shelf, or on a desk, where it can stand alone or together with other dog figurines and porcelain figurines.

For collectors, Bing & Grøndahl figures are sought after, and a German Shepherd figure like this has both decorative value and collector interest. At the same time, it is an obvious gift for the dog lover, for the owner of a German Shepherd, or for the person who appreciates Danish porcelain with history and character. Older porcelain figurines like this are also a sustainable choice, because they are created to be preserved, used, and appreciated through generations.
