Bing & Grøndahl Great Dane dog figurine no. 2038 Lauritz Jensen

This large dog figurine from Bing & Grøndahl combines classic Danish porcelain with a lifelike and calm dog motif. The figurine depicts a seated Great Dane, modeled with an upright posture, long legs and an alert expression, giving it a fine balance between strength and calm. The model was made by Lauritz Jensen and is known as figurine no. 2038.

The smooth underglaze highlights the figurine's soft surface and the gray decoration against the light base. In the pictures, a dog can be seen with dark spots over the back, sides, head and hindquarters, while the chest, legs and neck stand out more lightly. This gives the figurine life and depth, while the shape appears clean and harmonious in the interior. It is a porcelain figurine that fits beautifully both as a standalone eye-catcher and together with other animal figurines or classic Danish decorative art. The existing product information states porcelain and underglaze, and the model number as well as the motif are supported by other sources.

For collectors of Bing & Grøndahl figurines and for dog lovers, a Great Dane figurine like this has a special appeal. Lauritz Jensen is known for creating animal figurines with a sure sense of anatomy and character, and here the breed's long lines and calm dignity are captured in a convincing way. An older porcelain figurine like this adds history, personality and a piece of Danish design tradition to the home, while at the same time being a beautiful choice for you who would like to decorate with quality objects created to last for many years.

The figurine is ideal on a shelf, in a display cabinet or on a side table, where the glaze and the fine color nuances really come into their own. It is also an ideal gift idea for the collector, for the dog lover or for the person who is fond of porcelain figurines with a classic Danish expression and distinct character.
