Royal Copenhagen Collie dog figurine no. 1701 Peter Herold

Royal Copenhagen Collie dog figurine no. 1701 is a porcelain figurine with a calm and lifelike expression, which speaks directly to both collectors, dog lovers and everyone who delights in classic Danish figurative art. The figurine depicts a lying collie with its head raised, front legs stretched forward and an attentive, gentle gaze. The relaxed posture gives the figurine presence, while the breed's characteristic silhouette stands out clearly.

Peter Herold has modelled the dog figurine with great understanding of the collie's expression and coat. In the pictures, the long coat is shown rendered in soft, flowing forms, which give movement and depth to the figurine's surface. The colours in light brownish shades combined with white fur on the chest, neck, legs and head emphasise the motif's calm and harmonious character. The glazed surface brings the whole together and highlights the modelled details in a way that makes the figurine beautiful from every angle.

As a Royal Copenhagen figurine, this collie dog figurine combines porcelain, craftsmanship and a recognisable animal motif in one unified expression. It is precisely the type of porcelain figurine that fits beautifully in a collection of animal figurines, dog figurines or classic figurines from the Danish design tradition. It can stand alone on a shelf or in a display cabinet, but also works well together with other porcelain figurines, where it adds warmth and personality to the décor.

Older porcelain figurines like this have a special charm, because they bring both history and quality into the home. Choosing a figurine with soul and durability is at the same time a beautiful way to give good craftsmanship new life. Therefore, this collie is also an obvious gift idea for someone who loves dogs, Royal Copenhagen or collectibles with character.
