Bing & Grøndahl mother with child figurine no. 1829 porcelain figurine

This Bing & Grøndahl figurine no. 1829 depicts a quiet and familiar everyday moment between mother and child. The mother is seated with the child on her lap, while the child is busy taking off a small sock. The motif is warm, intimate and full of calm, and it is precisely the type of human scene that makes classic porcelain figurines so beloved in interior décor.

The figurine is made of porcelain with underglaze and has a subdued, harmonious colour expression in shades of white, blue and grey. The mother's calm posture and the child's concentrated movement bring the figurine to life, while the small cat beside them adds extra charm and makes the scene even more homely. It is a mother and child figurine with plenty of storytelling, without the expression seeming exaggerated.

Bing & Grøndahl is known for porcelain figurines with strong modelling and fine everyday motifs, and this figurine is a beautiful example of exactly that. It is well suited to those who collect B&G figurative art, or who want a porcelain figurine with family, care and childhood as its theme. It will look beautiful in a display cabinet, on a shelf or as a personal detail in the living room, bedroom or a child's room.

Older porcelain figurines like this one have a special ability to add soul and personality to the home. They are made to last a long time and are a sustainable choice for those who appreciate good craftsmanship and would like to give classic design new life in a modern home. The figurine is also an obvious gift idea for a mother, for a christening or for the collector who is fond of Danish porcelain figurines with a motif of parents and children.
