Bing & Grøndahl tiger figurine no. 2056 Lauritz Jensen 37 cm

Bing & Grøndahl tiger figurine no. 2056 is a striking porcelain figurine with strong character and fine movement. The walking tiger is modelled in a long, springy stretch, where the body works forward, while the head is turned and the mouth stands open. This gives the figurine a vivid and intense expression, which makes it an eye-catching collector's item within Danish animal porcelain.

The decoration emphasizes the tiger's powerful appearance. The dark stripes lie over a warm golden-brown base, while the chest, paws and areas around the head are kept in light tones. The glossy glaze highlights both the musculature and the fine transitions in the modelling, and the curved tail completes the figurine's dynamic silhouette. It is precisely the combination of lifelike details and stylized calm that makes Bing & Grøndahl's animal figurines so sought after.

The figurine is designed by Lauritz Jensen and made in porcelain with underglaze, which suits the motif's soft play of colours and the precise stripe details beautifully. As a tiger figurine, it works perfectly as an eye-catcher in a collection of Bing & Grøndahl figurines, but it also stands strongly on its own on the shelf, in the display cabinet or on a sideboard, where its length and posture really come into their own. For collectors of Danish porcelain, animal figurines and classic Scandinavian design, figurine no. 2056 is an obvious choice.
