Bing & Grøndahl pelican bird figurine no. 2139 in porcelain

Bing & Grøndahl pelican bird figurine no. 2139 is a classic porcelain figurine with a calm and well-composed expression. The motif shows a seated pelican with the long beak shape drawn down toward the back and the characteristically curved neck, which gives the figurine a natural balance and a distinct, recognizable silhouette. It is precisely the type of B&G bird figurine many seek when looking for Danish porcelain with a bird motif and strong design.

The figurine appears calm and composed in its expression. The simple posture highlights the pelican's distinctive body shape, and the modeling unites the motif into a compact, harmonious whole. It fits beautifully in a display cabinet, on a shelf, or as part of a collection of bird figurines, animal figurines, and older porcelain. As a pelican figurine in porcelain, it has both decorative value and the special appeal that nature motifs often add to interior decor.

Bing & Grøndahl is known for porcelain figurines in which animal motifs are executed with confident understanding of form, and this model is a fine example of exactly that. The figurine is made in porcelain with underglaze, which supports the classic expression. For collectors of Bing & Grøndahl figurines and B&G porcelain figurines, item number 2139 is an important identification, and for the design enthusiast, it is a figurine that unites Danish applied art, nature motif, and enduring craftsmanship.

Older porcelain such as this pelican also has a quality that extends beyond the decorative. It is an object created to last, and which can still bring joy in a modern home. Choosing vintage porcelain is at the same time a way to give fine craftsmanship new life and create a more personal interior with history and soul.

The figurine is ideal as a gift for the collector, the bird lover, or for you who are fond of classic Danish porcelain. It stands beautifully on its own, but can also be combined with other bird figurines or Bing & Grøndahl animal figurines for a more cohesive expression.
