Søholm money bank Per Hækkerup 1974 Bikuben Bank Saver of the Year

This money bank from Søholm combines Danish ceramics, satire and collector's delight in one striking figure. The motif depicts Per Hækkerup as a characterful bust, modeled with distinct facial features, strong mimicry and a cigar in his mouth. This gives the piggy bank a lively and almost caricatured expression, which makes it more than a practical object - it is also a piece of Danish cultural history and a decorative collector's item.

The piggy bank was produced for Bikuben and belongs to the "Bank Saver of the Year" series. This particular edition is from 1974, which makes it interesting for collectors of Søholm ceramics, Danish money banks and figures related to politics, contemporary history and advertising history. The warm, matte ceramic emphasizes the figure's sculptural form and gives it a calm, tactile expression that fits nicely into both classic and more personal interiors.

As a vintage piggy bank, it also has a special charm today. Older design and applied art like this bring history and soul into the home and are at the same time a sustainable choice for those who would like to give good craftsmanship new life. The figure works both as a conversation piece on the shelf, as a nostalgic element in the collection and as a gift idea for someone interested in Danish design, politics or Søholm's characteristic figures.

This Søholm money bank has an expression that you notice immediately. It is both humorous and historical, and it is precisely the combination of portrait figure, piggy bank and period object that makes it a sought-after find for collectors of "Bank Saver of the Year" and Danish ceramics with personality.
