Dahl Jensen brown bear no. 1017 porcelain figurine 19 x 23 cm

Dahl Jensen brown bear no. 1017 is a striking porcelain figurine that combines a lifelike animal motif with classic Danish porcelain art. The bear stands on a modelled rock ledge with its body turned and its head facing the viewer, giving the figure an intense and present expression. The open mouth, the visible teeth and the tense posture give the motif a dramatic power that makes the figure a natural eye-catcher in the room.

The brown-grey nuances in the glossy underglaze emphasise the bear's weight and muscular form. At the same time, the glaze brings life to the surface, where the light plays beautifully across the back, shoulders and the uneven rock base. The combination of the powerful animal and the rugged landscape creates a porcelain figurine with movement, atmosphere and character. For collectors of animal figurines and older porcelain, it is precisely this kind of modelling that makes a figure memorable.

The figure was created by Jens Peter Dahl Jensen for Dahl Jensen, who are known for their porcelain figurines with strong modelling and great understanding of the animals' anatomy and expression. This is clearly seen here in the bear's powerful paws, the broad back and the attentive gaze. Figurine number 1017 is an important detail for collectors seeking specific models from Dahl Jensen, and the good size gives the figure a striking presence on a chest of drawers, shelf or in a display cabinet.

A porcelain figurine like this adds personality and history to the home. It pairs beautifully with other animal figurines, classic porcelain and older decorative arts, but can also stand alone as a characterful element in a simpler interior. For many, it is precisely older porcelain figurines that are a meaningful way to decorate with quality items that were created to last and can still bring joy in a modern home.
