Royal Copenhagen Crucian carp figurine 2414 - Platen-Hallermundt

Royal Copenhagen crucian carp figurine no. 2414 is a classic porcelain figurine with a calm, true-to-nature expression. The small fish is modelled with a soft, rounded form, fine scales and discreet grey shades that give the figurine life and depth. The light fins and the distinctive eye underline the observant and almost quiet expression that makes fish figurines from Royal Copenhagen particularly popular in both collections and home decor.

The figurine is made of porcelain with underglaze and is designed by Francis Valdemar Platen-Hallermundt, who is known for his animal figurines with a sure sense of movement and character. Here the crucian carp is rendered in a simple and convincing form, where the curve of the body, the fan shape of the tail and the slightly raised dorsal fin create a unified expression. Model number 2414 is an important detail for collectors seeking this very fish figurine from Royal Copenhagen.

A figurine like this fits beautifully on a shelf, in a display cabinet or as part of a collection of Danish porcelain figurines and animal figurines. It also works well together with other maritime or nature-inspired objects, where it adds a calm, personal touch to the home. Older porcelain figurines like this simultaneously have a special charm, because they carry fine craftsmanship and lasting quality forward into a modern home. This makes them an obvious choice for those who appreciate design with history and would like to choose something that has already proven its durability over time.
