Bing & Grøndahl tiger figurine no. 1712 by Lauritz Jensen

Bing & Grøndahl tiger figurine no. 1712 is a striking porcelain figurine with a strong presence and lots of character. The tiger is modeled in a tense, low seated position with open mouth, outstretched front paw, and a body that appears ready to spring into motion. This gives the figurine a lively and dramatic expression, making it a natural eye-catcher in the interior.

The warm golden-brown glaze with dark stripes and light areas emphasizes the tiger's powerful form and gives the figurine depth from every angle. The tail follows the body in a soft curve, while the turn of the head and the open jaws add energy and tension to the motif. It is precisely the type of animal figurine that Bing & Grøndahl is known and appreciated for among collectors of Danish porcelain and classic figurines.

The figurine is designed by Lauritz Jensen and appears as a fine example of Danish porcelain design, where naturalism and decorative effect go hand in hand. A tiger figurine like this fits beautifully in a collection of Bing & Grøndahl figurines, but can also stand alone on a shelf, in a display cabinet, or on a side table, where it adds personality and history to the home.

Older porcelain figurines often have a special presence because they carry both craftsmanship and story with them. This makes them an obvious choice for those who appreciate original design with soul and prefer quality objects that can find new life in a modern home. The figurine is also an obvious gift idea for collectors of animal figurines, Danish porcelain, or classic Bing & Grøndahl.
