About the item
Royal Copenhagen Christmas plate 1933 with the motif The ferry Odin off Nyborg harbour is a classic and atmospheric collector's plate that combines Danish porcelain tradition, maritime history and the special Christmas spirit that makes the old Christmas plates so beloved. The motif was created by Chr. Benjamin Olsen and shows the ferry Odin on the water beneath the bright Christmas star, while the town is glimpsed in the background. At the bottom of the plate appears the visible text JUL 1933, which clearly marks the year's release and makes it easy to identify for collectors.

The deep blue-and-white porcelain is characteristic of Royal Copenhagen Christmas plates and gives the motif a calm, wintry atmosphere. The ferry appears prominent and detailed in the foreground, while light, sky and sea create a story of Danish winter, traffic across the Great Belt and life around the harbour. It is precisely this combination of cultural history and decorative design that makes a Royal Copenhagen Christmas plate 1933 something special.

As older porcelain with history, this Christmas plate contains both collector's value and lasting charm. It is a beautiful example of quality design that was created to last through generations, and which still adds personality to the home today. Choosing vintage porcelain is at the same time a sustainable way to decorate with objects that have already proven their value and durability.

The Christmas plate is ideal as wall decoration in a collection of annual plates, as an atmospheric feature in December or as a special gift for the collector, the maritime enthusiast or the person who is fond of Danish design history. There are holes on the back for hanging, so it is easy to hang up. At the same time, it is produced so that it may be used for food and is suitable for eating from, for example as a small lunch plate or cake plate. This makes it both decorative and usable in a modern table setting.
