This 1999 Bing & Grondahl Mother's Day Jubilee plate was issued to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the first Bing & Grondahl Mother's Day plate in 1969. The motif of this 1999 Bing & Grondahl Mothers Day Jubilee plate is the same as the motif of the 1992 Bing & Grondahl Mother's Day plate. The motif shows a panda with cubs. The Bing & Grondahl Mothers Day plate was designed by Leif Ragn Jensen. The pandas are in their right place with bamboo around them. The panda is a very threatened animal and unfortunately there are born very few pandas, neither in nature nor in captivity. The young panda leaves the mother when it is approximately 1½ year old. The Bing & Grondahl Mothers Day Jubilee Plates were started in 1979 and are still being continued with a new Jubilee plate every fifth year.
