Royal Copenhagen polar bear cub figurine no. 248 or 22748 Knud Kyhn

Royal Copenhagen polar bear cub figurine no. 248 or 22748 is a charming porcelain figurine with lots of personality. Knud Kyhn has captured the cub's soft, slightly clumsy body shape in an expression that seems both lively and calm at the same time. It sits with its paws forward and its head slightly turned, as if it has just discovered something around it. The white glaze emphasizes the figurine's clean form, while the dark details at the eyes, nose and mouth give the motif depth and character.

Knud Kyhn is known for his animal figurines, and here one clearly senses his sure understanding of anatomy, movement and temperament. The figurine has a fine balance between naturalism and stylization, which makes it suitable both as a collector's item and as a decorative porcelain figurine in the home. It fits beautifully on a shelf, in a display cabinet or as part of an arrangement with other animal figurines from Royal Copenhagen.

For many, older porcelain figurines are also a way to bring history, craftsmanship and durability into the interior. A figurine like this carries classic Danish design tradition and is at the same time easy to place in a modern home, where it adds warmth, personality and a discreet touch of Nordic nature. This also makes it an obvious gift for collectors or for those who are fond of Royal Copenhagen, Knud Kyhn and Danish animal figurines with soul.
