Royal Copenhagen sleeping striped cat figurine 422 or 057 Erik Nielsen

Royal Copenhagen figurine of a sleeping striped cat is one of the classic cat figurines that, with a few confident lines, conveys calm, warmth and presence. The cat lies gathered in a round, resting form with the tail drawn close around the body, and the expression is quiet and relaxed. The blue-grey stripes over the light glaze give the figurine life and character and emphasize the naturalistic motif in a fine, subdued way.

The figurine is designed by Erik Nielsen, who is known for his animal figurines with soft shapes and a lively expression. Here the cat is modeled with a simplicity that makes the figurine easy to place in the décor, yet at the same time detailed enough to catch the eye. The pointed ears, the slightly bent head and the curled-up body give the porcelain figurine a special sense of peace and a homely atmosphere.

As a Royal Copenhagen figurine, this sleeping cat naturally belongs in the home of collectors of Danish porcelain, but it is also ideal for those who are fond of cat figurines, Nordic design and decorative art with personality. It looks beautiful on a shelf, in a display cabinet or as a small calm detail on a table, where its organic form and discreet play of colors truly come into their own.

Older porcelain figurines like this have a charm that extends beyond the decorative. They carry the story of fine craftsmanship and design created to be preserved and appreciated for many years. That is precisely why a vintage Royal Copenhagen cat figurine is also an obvious choice for those who wish to decorate with things that have history, quality and soul.
