Royal Copenhagen creeping cat figurine no. 473 or 059 by C. F. Liisberg

Royal Copenhagen figurine no. 473, also known as 059, is a striking cat figurine with an unusually lifelike expression. C. F. Liisberg has created a creeping cat in porcelain, where the body is stretched fully out in the movement, the head is lowered, and the tail follows the line backwards in a calm, tense curve. The glossy white glaze emphasizes the figurine's pure form and gives the motif a simple, sculptural expression that fits beautifully into both classic and modern homes.

It is precisely the cat's body language that makes the figurine so fascinating. One senses the moment just before the next step, and Liisberg's model captures that special blend of suppleness, concentration, and independence that characterizes the cat. The green eyes as well as the light pink details at the ears and muzzle add life to the white porcelain and create a fine contrast to the long, gliding silhouette. As a cat figurine from Royal Copenhagen, it has both decorative strength and clear collector appeal.

This porcelain figurine is an obvious choice for those who appreciate Danish design, animal figurines, and older craftsmanship with character. It stands beautifully on its own on a shelf, in a display cabinet, or on a sideboard, where its long form really comes into its own. At the same time, it is a figurine that can easily be combined with other porcelain figurines or with Nordic interior design, where the light shades and calm lines are given space. For collectors, the model number is an important detail, and for cat lovers, it is a motif that conveys both movement and personality.

When choosing an older Royal Copenhagen figurine like this, you get not just a decorative object, but also a piece of Danish porcelain history, created to last and to be appreciated for many years to come. It is precisely this kind of applied art and collectibles with history that gives the home soul and makes the interior more personal.
