Sealyham terrier figurine 2179 or 451 Bing & Grøndahl 6 cm

This Sealyham terrier figurine from Bing & Grøndahl is a classic Danish dog figurine in porcelain, designed by Lauritz Jensen. The sitting dog is depicted with a calm, attentive expression and a simple, soft modelling that gives the figurine both character and warmth. The light glaze combined with the discreet brownish areas at the head, ears, collar and back emphasizes the motif's lively appearance.

It is precisely this type of porcelain figurine that makes Bing & Grøndahl's animal figurines so sought after among collectors and dog lovers. The form is simple and harmonious, yet at the same time contains many fine details in the head, the snout, the downward-bent ears and the sitting posture. The underglaze decoration gives a calm and durable expression that suits the figurine's subdued play of colours.

As a vintage porcelain figurine, it brings both history and personality into the interior. It fits beautifully on a shelf, in a display cabinet or as part of a larger collection of Bing & Grøndahl figurines and other Danish animal figurines. The figurine is also an obvious gift idea for the dog lover, the collector or for you, who appreciate older porcelain with soul and a design language that still feels present in a modern home. Choosing older quality design like this is at the same time a lovely way to give fine craftsmanship new life and let it continue to create joy for many years to come.

The existing designation with figurine no. 2179 and 451 makes the figurine easy to recognize for collectors who are looking for this very model. The motif is referred to as a sitting Sealyham terrier, and the figurine is made of porcelain with underglaze, which makes it relevant both as a collector's item and as decorative applied art with a clear Danish design heritage.
