Bing & Grøndahl The Little Gentleman no. 544 or 2544 figure

Bing & Grøndahl The Little Gentleman is a porcelain figurine with lots of personality and imagination. The figurine depicts a dressed-up boy who is almost engulfed by his costume: a large blue hat, a long brown coat, and a long white tie with blue dots, which falls all the way down in front of the figure. The expression is both dreamy and a little solemn, as if the child is playing grown-up and for a moment stepping into the role of a little gentleman.

The motif is part of the series Children's Fantastic World, also known as The Make Believe World of Children, created by Carl Lomoupo for Bing & Grøndahl. Here, childhood imagination has been turned into porcelain art, and this particular figurine captures dress-up play in a vivid and charming way. The soft shapes and the calm color scheme give the figurine a warm and poetic expression that fits beautifully into both classic and more personal collections.

The figurine is made of porcelain and decorated in underglaze, which emphasizes the fine craftsmanship quality for which Bing & Grøndahl is known. It is ideal for collectors of Bing & Grøndahl figurines, children's figurines, and porcelain figurines with story and character. At the same time, it is a good choice for those who are fond of figurines with a nostalgic atmosphere and a world of motifs with children in role play and fantasy.

As an older porcelain figurine, The Little Gentleman also contains the special joy found in preserving good design and beautiful craftsmanship. Vintage figurines like this add soul and history to the home and are a sustainable alternative to new production. It can stand alone on a shelf, on a chest of drawers, or in a display cabinet, but also looks very lovely together with the other figurines from Children's Fantastic World.
