Bing & Grondahl's Christmas plate from 1903 is titled Happy expectations of the children. December is passed with shopping for gifts, making Christmas decorations, looking at the Christmas decoraions in shops, but as Christmas Eve gets closer, the waiting becomes more difficult. Then on the night of the 24th of December, presents are handed out, after the family have walked around the Christmas tree, singing all the well known Christmas carols.
