About the product
1926 Bing & Grondahl Christmas plate, designed by Achton Friis, is titled Chruchgoers on Christmas Day. Bing & Grondahl's Christmas plate from 1926 depicts families on their way to church. The Christmas star is shining in the sky. The church they are on their way to is Haraldsted Church, a typical Danish country church, which is known, because this was the place Knud Lavard was killed and buried. According to the legend wonders began to happen, for instance a well came in the place where he was killed. Finally the papacy made Knud Lavard a saint, and after his som King Valdemar the Great had become king, his body was moved to the bigger Sct Bendt Church.
