The year's edition was designed by Jens Peter Dahl Jensen for Bing & Grøndahl. The series began as early as 1895 and was thus the world's first Christmas plate series. Since 1895, a new plate has been released every year, which makes the early years particularly interesting for collectors. This 1906 edition belongs to the early plates in the historical series and at the same time represents the classic blue-and-white Bing & Grøndahl style that many associate with Danish Christmas porcelain.

Each year's edition was produced in a limited number, and after the year's final firing, the mold was destroyed. This means that each Christmas plate constitutes a completed release, which is an essential part of its collector interest. At the same time, it is a piece of porcelain with history and soul, which can still find a place in a modern home, where older quality objects add personality and are a beautiful alternative to new production.

As Bing & Grøndahl Christmas plates from 1905 onward can be used for food, this year's edition can also be used as a small cake plate or dessert plate for the rest of the year. During the Christmas season, it is of course also ideal to bring out when the table is to have a classic and nostalgic expression. On the back there are two holes for hanging, so the plate can also easily be hung up as part of the Christmas decoration.
