Royal Copenhagen Babbling Baby figurine no. 027 Allan Therkelsen

Royal Copenhagen Babbling Baby figurine no. 027 is a porcelain figurine with a warm and intimate expression. The figurine depicts a small baby lying on its back with bent legs and feet raised up toward the hands. The face is slightly open and vividly modeled, giving the motif the babbling and attentive character that the title suggests. It is a child figurine that captures a very special moment from early childhood with calm, curiosity, and movement gathered in one form.

Allan Therkelsen has created a baby figurine in which the soft lines and natural body posture give the motif a credible and sensuous expression. The light porcelain body combined with the discreet painting on the face and hair highlights the figurine's fine modeling without taking focus away from the simplicity of the motif. The underglaze technique supports the calm overall impression and the smooth surface that suits Royal Copenhagen's figurine tradition so well.

As a Royal Copenhagen figurine, this model appeals both to collectors of Danish porcelain figurines and to those who want a decorative child figurine with personality. The motif makes it ideal in the interior on a chest of drawers, shelf, or in a display cabinet, where it can stand alone or be included together with other figurines with children and family life as a theme. It is also a gentle gift idea for a christening, maternity leave, or as a memory of the first little years.

Older porcelain figurines like this contain a quality and durability that make them worth preserving and continuing to use. When classic Danish porcelain design is given new life in a modern home, it adds both history, soul, and a more sustainable form of interior design. Here you get a figurine that still speaks directly to the emotions through its simple motif and its solid craftsmanship.
