Bing & Grøndahl mouse pair on dish no. 1562

A small dish with a figurative mouse pair from Bing & Grøndahl, model no. 1562, has an expression that is both calm and lively. The two white mice are modeled very close together at the edge, where they almost look down into the dish and create a lovely narrative in the porcelain. The soft, organic shape and the glossy white glaze give the piece a light and harmonious expression that fits beautifully into both classic and modern interiors.

The motif is full of character without seeming heavy. The mice are executed with great attention to form and movement, and it is precisely the interplay between figure and utilitarian object that makes this Bing & Grøndahl model special. Jens Peter Dahl Jensen is known for his naturalistic animal motifs, and here the decorative figure is combined with a small dish that can both be displayed as porcelain art and used in the home for small items.

The dish is ideally suited as a jewelry dish, soap dish, small serving bowl, or as a decorative detail on a table, in a shelf, or on a bedside table. The glossy white surface makes it easy to combine with other Danish porcelain, and the mouse motif adds personality without taking over. For collectors of Bing & Grøndahl figures, mouse figures, and Danish design porcelain, this is a model with both charm and recognizability.

Older porcelain like this has a special presence because it was created with care and can still be used and appreciated today. It is precisely the type of object that gives the home history and soul, while at the same time being given new life in a contemporary interior.
