Jay Bing & Grøndahl bird figurine no. 1760 21 cm

Jay from Bing & Grøndahl is a classic Danish bird figurine in porcelain, combining a nature motif and fine craftsmanship in a calm, characterful expression. The figurine shows the jay sitting attentively on a branch stub with a long tail, a distinct beak and the clear lines in the plumage that give the motif life and presence. It is a porcelain figurine that appeals both to collectors of Bing & Grøndahl and to those who appreciate bird figurines with a natural and honest design language.

The underglaze technique supports the figurine's soft surface and fine details, which precisely characterize much of the Danish porcelain that collectors return to again and again. The jay is a bird with personality, and this is felt in the modelling, where the slightly bent position of the head and the upright body create a figurine with both movement and calm. As Bing & Grøndahl bird figurine no. 1760, it is at the same time easy to identify for collectors seeking specific model numbers.

This figurine fits beautifully in a bookcase, a display cabinet or as part of an arrangement with other animal figurines and birds in porcelain. It can also be used as a personal gift for someone who appreciates Danish design, nature motifs or older porcelain with history and soul. It is precisely such figurines that add warmth and personality to the home and are a fine example of how good craftsmanship can live on across generations.

For many, Bing & Grøndahl figurines are also associated with the joy of collecting, preserving and decorating with things that are made to last. Jay no. 1760 is therefore not only a decorative porcelain figurine, but also a piece of Danish design tradition that still works beautifully in a contemporary home.
