Bing & Grøndahl cuckoo bird figurine no. 1770 or 1020423 24 cm

Bing & Grøndahl cuckoo bird figurine no. 1770 is a characterful porcelain figurine with a lively and lifelike expression. The figurine is modelled by Jens Peter Dahl Jensen, who is known for his convincing animal studies, and here the cuckoo is captured in a moment that can almost be heard. The bird is seen with an open beak and raised tail, placed on a branch, which gives the motif movement and presence.

The blue-grey shades, the lighter areas on the underside and the lifelike branch create a harmonious overall impression, where both form and glaze work beautifully together. The calm colour scheme makes the figurine easy to place in the interior, while the distinctive posture adds personality. It is precisely the type of classic Danish bird figurine that many collectors and design enthusiasts appreciate for the combination of artistic modelling and solid porcelain tradition.

Over time, Bing & Grøndahl has created some of the most sought-after Danish porcelain figurines, and this cuckoo is a fine example of how bird motifs can unite a love of nature, craftsmanship and collector's value. The underglaze supports the figurine's soft surface and gives the colours depth, so that the motif appears calm and cohesive. At the same time, it is a figurine that fits beautifully in both classic and modern homes, whether it is placed in a display cabinet, on a shelf or on a chest of drawers together with other bird figurines.

For those who appreciate older porcelain figurines, this model also holds the joy of preserving good craftsmanship that is made to last. A figurine like this brings history, soul and personality into the home and is at the same time a sustainable choice when beautiful design is allowed to live on through generations. It is also ideal as a gift for collectors, bird enthusiasts or anyone who appreciates Danish porcelain art with character.
